![]() ![]() And the time-looping mysteries of The Sexy Brutale was one of Edwin Evans-Thirlwell’s favourite games from that year. The stunningly lit island of Rime is one of the best non-violent games around. ![]() Tequila Works' last few games have been quite good too. I’ve admittedly not tried the game, but I’m looking to trying its creepy-sweet cartoon world when Gylt comes to consoles and Steam on July 6th. The first exclusive available on Google Stadia back in 2019 was Gylt, a horror adventure game from Tequila. In true survival horror fashion, though, your flashlight will soon run out of batteries, forcing you to run, hide, and crawl back into the light. Gylt, a horror adventure game that died with Stadia, is now back on PC, Xbox, and PS5. Or you can maybe use that flashlight for - you know - illuminating dark spaces and whatnot. Or you could plunge the torch right into beasts’ backs for a quick stealth kill. Channelling one part of Alan Wake, combat has you aim your flashlight at enemies to burn through their shadow-fuelled armour. The rest of the horror-adjacent adventure is split between puzzles, and choosing between combat or stealth. The only problem is that she’s soon pulled into a shadowy alternate version of her own world where her fears manifest into creepy creatures: smiling mannequins and other gooey things, most of which represent her childhood experience with bullying. When her younger cousin mysteriously goes missing, Sally takes it upon herself to lead the search. Gylt casts you in the role of Sally, a little girl who lives in an old mining town. Tequila Works - the studio behind Rime and The Sexy Brutale - have now announced that their Stadia-exclusive adventure Gylt is heading to Steam and consoles on July 6th, 2023. There's currently no indication of what those platforms might be, but expect further updates in due course.Īs for those other remaining Stadia exclusives now looking for a new home, the only additional news so far comes from developer Splash Damage, who said it would "need to take a couple of days to evaluate the options" for its colourful multiplayer combat game Outcasters following Google's closure announcement. When Google announced they were shutting down their streaming service Stadia, a bunch of exclusive games began to jump ship to other platforms. "We've been working on it for a long time and it's finally time to make it official: GYLT is going multiplatform in 2023!". "Spooky season is around the corner. And we bring terrific news!," the developer wrote in a brief post on its website. However, following last week's announcement that Google will be shutting down Stadia on 18th January next year - a move that prompted questions as to what might happen to the cloud gaming service's handful of remaining exclusives - Tequila Works has confirmed Gylt will finally be getting a multiplatform release some time in 2023. And while Tequila Works did at one point suggest a multiplatform release might eventually be on the cards, it's remained resolutely Stadia-bound in the years since. Gylt, an enjoyably surreal horror yarn that follows the adventures of a young girl in search of her missing cousin, launched exclusively on Stadia back in 2019. Tequila Works, the developer behind the likes of the sublime Rime and intriguing VR murder-mystery The Invisible Hours, has confirmed its formerly Stadia-exclusive action-adventure Gylt will be going multiplatform next year. ![]()
